denim delinquent started going off the rails with issue 6. Due to drugs, drink and a new love for the heavy part of metal let us astray. Receiving postcards from Gene Simmons praising our initial review of a 1974 show at Long Beach, we were onto a new path of Kiss-iness. The design was better than ever but the subject was steering away from the rock and roll impetus that kept us in the groove. Also, Greg Shaw had retired from editing Bomp! and the new editor did not take to our new direction so a great source for subscribers was gone. So, we placed ads in Rolling Stones's classifieds and pronounced our new heavy mental thrust. It worked. We sold about 2,000 copies from that ad alone.

As the issue was about finished but funds were lacking, we received an article from Lester Bangs on Lou Reed. By denim delinquent standards, the article had a lot of words so Jymn typed it up and shrunk it down to fit the last available page. Not a particularly honorable thing do to to such a venerated writer, especially since poor Lester wrote two more letters, demanding the return of the article so he could publish it elsewhere as we struggled to find the funds to publish the "damn thing" (as our printer referred to it). I waiting in horror after sending copies of the published ish to Lester for him to respond with something like, "What did you do my article?" But we never heard from Lester Bangs again. Sigh.
